AWA Peacekeeper

Saw one on online auction site serial #15 new 4 3/4" barrel white grips and black grips with case.How were the early ones? Are they still (AWA) in business and what do they offer? Thanks.

They are in business and distribute some nice guns. The Peacekeeper, which may be what you saw ,raised the ire of Colt because it was too good a copy, particularly the black grips with a galloping horse on it. Someone at AWA also neglected to remember that Colt once sold a double- action revolver with the name "Peacekeeper" on it...whoops! The Peacekeeper from AWA came with an action job from the factory and the case-hardening was the real deal. They are not Colts but if you can get them in the $500 range they are darn nice guns, I have one. I have not seen an AWA Ultimate (their new gun) in the flesh but believe it is the same gun as the Peacekeeper but with grips less offensive to Colt. Someone who has an AWA Ultimate may want to comment.
