Opinions on this revolver? I am new to CAS and have heard these are great guns. Thinking of buying a pair in .357/.38, 5 1/2". Don't know what class I prefer to shoot in yet.

What Curley Cole said. I just picked one up in 45 Colt and love it. The external fit and finish is excellent and it shoots very well. There are a few tool marks inside the frame, but hey, nobody is perfect. It was CAS ready right out of the box, and needed no additional slicking up.

A little of history on my GW2:

I was doing some practice shooting with Old Top, and the gun started to feel like it had gravel in it. And before long, It locked up tight. Took it to EMF and Steve looked at it and said it had a warped mainspring. Had it ready to go in one day. Now, it seems to cock and fire even smoother that before. So, as far as I am concerned it is a KEEPER.

Hey. 

I bought a nice .357 7 1/2" and am very pleased.  It is smooth, well balanced, fit and finish are flawless..only problem is that the good and faire wife has laid a claim on it....  A great revolver indeed.

Does the GW have a coil main spring like the Ruger instead of a flat spring?  How much are these guns going for at the shows?

I looked this model over as well as, the EMF Frontier Marshal.  I chose the Frontier Marshal in .45LC with a 5.5 inch. barrel.  I've never had a bad gun from EMF Hartford yet!

My pair of GW2 revolvers are shooters!!! and they just love BP loads. 
Specifics:  5.5" barrel, stainless steel, 38/357. 
And I sometimes shoot a 38 Long Colt load in them -- no problems.

Halfcocked, if you plan to shoot in the Classic Cowboy class, you'll have to have a 40 caliber or above. that means 44-40 or 45 Colt. You need to know what class you want to shoot before you make the big plunge on your guns. If CC is not your choice then the 38/357 would be fine.
