With penciled inscription on verso, presumably in D.F. Barry's hand White Man Killed by the Sioux - the 2 cuts on the legs show the Sioux mark - From the way he's cut on the legs -- shows he was killed by a Sioux Indian -. This shocking image shows the mutilated body of Sgt. Fredrick Williams of the 7th Cavalry, killed by Sioux, Cheyenne and Arapahoe near Fort Wallace, Kansas on June 26, 1867.
