USFA Omnipotent
« on: July 24, 2009, 07:14:34 PM »
Can anyone tell me if USFA is producing their Omni-Potent sixgun?  I was in their site and saw them advertised for $1600.00 plus.

Do they actually expect to sellany at that price?  Come on!  Their not a COLT!
Listen!  Do you hear that?  The roar of Cannons and the screams of the dying.  Ahh!  Music to my ears.

Grapeshot,

I checked the Omni-Potent by USFA .... it seems to be a Colt Clone with Birdshead style grips.

Am I correct in my thinking that it is not a top-break revolver?

You are right.  It's not a break top, but it doesn't look like a SAA either.

Thanks for the link, though.

I looked over a prototype at SHOT show some time back. It is essentially a SSA frame with hardware to approximate the grip / shape of a 1878. At least that is what I believe was intended. However, it is a single action firearm.

Don't know if it is still offered, but I expect one could find a serviceable 1878 Colt for similar cost.

I bought one early this past summer in .45 Colt from a dealer who told me that USFA only made 4 last year...mine was one of them.  And yes, I paid $1600 for it.  That said, it's a great gun.  I really like the way it feels and it shoots dead on..
Since the pic was taken, I have made and fitted elk antler grips to it.
