USFA
« on: February 04, 2009, 11:14:50 PM »
Call me werid,,but I really LIKE the matte finish on the Rodeos.

Now my question...

,,is the metals (frame, barrels, grip rails, screws, etc,,,) the same quality,,,not counting cosmetics,,,as any other USFA ?

Other words,,is a Rodeo as 'strong',,,as structural sound..as any other USFA ?

I'd think after a Rodeo showed some hoslter wear,,,they might even look VERY kewl.

Thank you for any assistance ,,,or ideas and muzings,,on this subject.

I shoot Rodeos and have toured the USFA factory and I can tell you the Rodeo is every bit as strong as it is the same base gun as any other USFA.  USFA builds their basic SAA guns the same way.  Their differences do not begin until application of finishes.  That is why you will find Rodeos have the same awesome fitting of parts as their higher priced guns.  A few years ago I had a special order with Cimmaron for a Thunderer for a special project.  Getting their USA finish so I could have real Color Case Hardening instead of the Chemically applied Case finish cost $250.

I have a Rodeo that I polished he original matt finish off the frame and then had the frame color case hardened.  Cost $80.  Gun looks great with the barrel and cylinder matt finished and the frame colored.
