Rodeo - Official Sport

A private members bill was just passed in the Alberta Legislature making Rodeo the official sport of the Province of Alberta.

Since we have two NHL hockey teams in Alberta, the hockey fans were miffed at the selection.

Cowboys 1     Hockey Fans 0

The Calgary Stampede has been around longer than the Hockey teams. I am not a Hockey fan but I am a Rodeo fan. I've been to the Stampede several times and it's one of the best rodeos around, especially the chuckwagon races.

Hay Buff
Now when I get out there  next summer , maybe we can get together at the 'Official Sport' venue ( Stampede) . Haven't seen it for several years ..maybe you can convince me to try the 'prairie  oysters" . I have to admit I chickened out !!

Let's hope that this Official Sport doesn't ever get as watered down as the other one.

About 6 or 7 years ago the Calgary Stampede wanted to put on a demo rodeo in Toronto to promote the Stampede.  Because of this, the Tor(ban)to City Council immediately banned rodeos within the municipal limits.

As I have often said, "The sooner Tor(ban)to slips into Lake Ontario and takes its commie, pinko, left wing socialist City Council with it the better off this great country will be."

Teddy Blue, You don't know what you are missing with the "mountain oysters".  They are considered a "delicacy" down here in Texas. They are best served deep fried with cream gravy on the side.
