Gents and Gals - how do you like yours?

I am considering this gun as my current sxs with hammers is having "aging issues":)

Tank tough and stiff out of the box ...smoothes into a reasonable contender.

But before you cut your Check...
take a good long look at the TTN ...I bought mine three years ago
Right out of the box with light springs, large bead sight, and sweet shooter (not to mention, hammers close enough
to thumb both in one pass) and true rebounding hammers that are the safety. No extra external safety like the Ruski has
Black Walnut and excellent fit.
when planets align...do the deal !

Roger that on the TTN. Darn good out of the box. A little buffing here and there and it's good to go. Me and the wife both shoot one. The mule ears are close together and easy to cock both with one sweep of the hand. Plus it's heavy enough that recoil don't bother even with the steel butt plate. First thing I did was get the dremal out and take off the spurs on top of the hammers so I would'nt cut my hand to shreads while cocking it. Had the BH II, to light and I didn't care for the skinny hammers. I like a heavy 'click-click' not a 'ping-ping' when I cock them hammers. I really didn't think the BH II would last long under heavy use. Like Major 2 says " take a good long look at the TTN "!

Hi Y'all,

There's a thread on "Shooter's Meeting", "Baikal SXS, not too bad at all"
http://www.cascity.com/forumhall/index.php/topic,22005.0.html
on how to slick one up.  Mine's still in the box, but I'm looking forward to working with it.

Saw an ad in a 2005 Guns of the Old West stating that they also made accessory barrels for these in
.30-30 and .45-70 SxS. Anybody know if they still do?
Just went to the web site. Not accessory barrels, barrel sleeves/liners, you have to have the screw in chokes, but you can get them in 45-70 and a lot of other calibers. Cost is about 150.00 per barrel.
The first step of becoming a good shooter is knowing which end the bullet comes out of and being on the other end.
