Am I missing something?  BOTH look like brass-frame rifles.  Why would an iron frame look like brass?  Gold plated?

The frame of the nearer rifle in all the photos appears to me to be the same color as the barrel and lever. Also, the brass carrier in that rifle contrasts in color with the frame. Hence my assumption that it an iron frame.

But I guess I could be wrong.
