Finially shot the gun this weekend and was pretty impressed. Blackpowder is defianantly different, I was shocked how much smoke that round would generate. I still have the feeding problem so I've decided to send it to the place Grizz recomended. I've never sent a gun before. I assume I have to send it from a gun dealer to gun dealer or can I just mail it to them?

Sent you a PM. :)

Well, the nightmare is over finally. I had to have the back of the chamber reamed and polished and the dies cut down alittle so the shoulder would move back on the case. I also had the trigger done and had a tang sight and #17 front globe sight installed. There was action work done as well and he slugged the bore. He said I should use bullets in the .506 to .508 range. I had Nate Kiowa Jones aka: "Rossi 92 Specialist" do the work. Gun will be here soon just got to get the money order sent out tomorrow. When I get it I'll let you guys know how it turned out. Steve's been awesome to work with and very informative.

Well, got the gun back friday. The gun functions way better than it did before. Trigger is set to around 3.5 or so pounds and the grittyness is gone. I wasn't for sure if I'd like the sights that Steve recommended, but they are alot nicer and better than I expected. I haven't shot it or cycled ammo through it yet, that will happen over the holidays. I defianantly can't wait thats for sure. I chased the fedex guy just to get my package. I'll let you guys know how everything turns out when I shot it.

I sure hope all your troubles are behind you.  The .50-95 is a blast, I love mine.  BTW - Jamison brass is now available and it is excellent.

Hope everyone had a good christmas. I shot the gun and all my problems are gone. I shot about 8 rounds of the buff. arms ammo through it and it cycled wonderfully. The sight will take awhile to get used to but I do like it that's for sure. I shot a camper that had burned up and a half dead tree thats was 8 or so inches round. Feels kinda good puttin large holes in objects and being able to see them between 40 and 50 yards away. Of course this is coming from a guy who enjoys shooting old home appliances. I forgot just how much fun it is to "make some smoke" with this thing. You guys got any suggestions on the sights, I sure could use em.

There are a number of good sight options depending on your needs.  I added a Riflesmith tang sight to mine.  Its a very high quality sight that looks really good on the rifle.  A little cumbersome for hunting in the woods, but great for the range.  It could be a great advantage when zeroing in on a riled up and charging washing machine  ;D
