Hello Pards ;D

You might be wondering why I haven't posted any new leather project since April, Will i have a problem, my bicep muscel has a tear in it and i have a torn rotator cuff on my right shoulder just like I had three years ago with my left shoulder, so i've been in a lot of pain with this for several months, and i'm looking forward to having surgery on this soon, but i couldn't help myself i had to get out in my shop and make two more holsters, and today i had my first chance to use Ace Lungers Stitching Mule that he made for me , and i have to tell you pards this thing is great it's right at the right height, and made sewing a pleasure for the first time , i never really minded sewing but now it's a lot easier on me and my back, I think having it sitting on the floor makes it so much easier to place in the right spot for comfort, Ace did a dandy job of making this, it's strong and should last me a life time

So this just to say thanks Ace, your a real craftsman and a good friend , and I'll use this Mule forever. :D ;D

That's a great testimonial to Ace's design. So cool to have something you'll use like that. Bummer about the arm & shoulder. That can take a while to heal up so it doesn't hurt. Hope the surgery does the trick.

tEN WOLVES,

Sorry to hear about your problems....but glad your not letting them get you down.  It's nice to have friends and especially ones like Ace.

Congratulations on the two new holsters that got you out into your shop.

I once heard that pain is Gods way of letting you know that your still alive.

The older I get the more I feel it.

Hope your surgery gets you feeling better soon.

Hang in there and you'll be doing much better soon.

....as to making a stitching clamp/pony.mule,

I made one several years ago with two staves out of an oak whisky barrel. After cleaning out the chared inner surface & trimming the inside top lips so they matched I screwd and glued the bottom to a piece of maple so the top edges were forced together under the natural spring tension of the oak. It worked well for me and I could hold my work piece firmly as I ran the stitch.
