Are 45-90 winchester dies the same as 45 X 2 4/10 Sharps dies?

OK, is it normal to not be able to sleep at night while you're waiting for your new Rolling block to arrive?

I want to add this because it bugs the poop out of me.  What you are getting is not a 45-90 I hope, but a Sharps 45-2.4 round in that rifle.  If it has a faster twist like about 18-1 and can shoot heavy bullets, then it is the Sharps round.  The 45-90 came out in 1886 in the 1886 Winchester and has a 1-32 twist and is made to shoot 300 gr bullets.

The case is the same, but the round is not exactly the same.

My rifle is stamped 45 -2.4.  Have I ordered the wrong dies? ???

Nope, the dies and brass are the same, it's the twist in the barrel that makes the differance. :)

Roosterman,

In answer to your second question - Yes, it is normal to not be able to sleep while waiting for your rifle to arrive. I didn't sleep for 4 years, 10 months and twenty days waiting for my Shiloh Sharps to get into town. I was tired for a long time. Had to have something to keep my mind off it, so I built my Rolling Block - that only took about a month. I was then able to sleep in short spurts until my Hartford arrived.

Yeah, or it could also be a U.S. Gov't .45-80 (same case also) that was used in the scarce "Long Range" Trapdoor.

Those dies would work for it too.

You can see one of the rare .45-80 ctg.s from my collection here

Another thought, it could be a Rigby 450 Match round also, understand the few made went to Canada, most likely to be able to use the Sharps round, I have seen a round of the 450 match with the Rigby headstamp.
