Who would you send a pistol to?
« on: March 20, 2008, 09:24:12 PM »
I have an EMF Great Western II that I bought used and could use some action work.  Who would you send a pistol to for some work?  I live in MN but distance isn't a big deal.

Thanks

DB

Howdy Dave

You can call E.M.F. and talk to Debbie , they send their Great Western guns to a gunsmith in Oregon, but they may have someone in your area that they can recommend, give her a call, www.emf-company.com  :D ;D

Do it yourself...

A set of polishing stones and 'good' gunsmith screwdrivers - along with the ability to see and remove burring and high spots will do wonders for pretty much anything.

Follow with a 'thorough' cleaning and use a good lubricant on the moving parts - reassemble and try.

That's pretty much what they'll do, anyway - except they'll charge heavily for it, and you'll be out shipping and time.

Vaya,

Just based on where your at, I'd suggest you give "Manatee" @ Bananariveroutfitters a look see.  Very good at what he does (cowboy guns).  Good work at a fair price.
I'd recommend me, but I'm in Pennsylvania and don't work by mail.

I just got my two cattleman 45s back from Cody Conagher, I will say they now sing. Also turn around time was 6 days, house to house.
