Dead Eye Dave,

I bought a Taylors 92 Take down in 44-40, and laying next to a 32-20 take down original winchester (a pard of mine has one) you have to look at the barrel to see the caliber they both look the same.  Shooting is like it has lazer sights hits every time if I do my part and aim  ;D.

I've been using an EMF '92 Hartford for about 3 years now. Never had a problem, never had an action job. It smoothed out on it's own with use.

Kinda partial to the Browning B-92 myself.  Discontinued but you can still find em.  357's are rarer than 44 mag and bring a higher price. 8)

I was going to ask the same question, but over in the UK I only have two choice's .
A Rossi 92 or a Armi Sports 92 . Would like to get a case hardened short rifle in 44-40 not a carbine.
So whats you thoughts.

Just my two cents. I would take a toggle link (Henry, '66 or '73) over a '92 any day of the week. Why? The toggle links are much smoother and cycle better. In 12 years of CAS over 90% of rifle problems I've seen are with '92 clones, mainly people physically "short stroking" the lever motion and jamming the gun up tighter than Dick's hat band. As a famous CAS gunsmith once told me "if you want smooth get a toggle link, if you want strong get a '92." Besides, in 1892 the West was over.  ;)

I've been thinking about buying a 92 and wondering which one is the best.
I appears that the Armi Sport brand cost about twice as much as the Rossi made guns. Are they that much better quality?
I also see the ones sold by Cimarron are a lot more expensive, are they made by Armi Sport?

I cant speak to how much better or not the Armi Sport is, but I think MY Armi Sport is a fine gun.  The models carried by Cimarron are Armi Sport and NO they are no better than the ones carried by Taylors.  Buy the Armi Sport from the company that you get the best price from.  Rembember that the prices quoted on the Cimarron and Taylors websites are ONLY retail.  Your FFL can buy the gun cheaper and pass some savings on to you.  Regards. Deadeye.
