Hillary Clinton's great uncle, Remus Rodham,
« on: September 07, 2007, 11:58:21 AM »
This was a posting on the DownRange site yesterday from Don Worsham.
Thought it was worth sharing over here...

A professional genealogical researcher, discovered that Hillary Clinton's great uncle, Remus Rodham, a fellow lacking in moral character, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889. The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows. On the back of the picture is this inscription: "Remus Rodham; horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, and robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889."

The researcher e-mailed Hillary Clinton for comments. Hillary's staff of professional image adjusters cropped Remus' picture, scanned it, enlarged the image, and edited it with image processing software so that all that's seen is a head shot. The accompanying biographical sketch was as follows:

"Remus Rodham was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory. His business empire grew to include the acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to service at a government facility, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the Railroad. In 1887, he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889, Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor when the platform upon which he was standing collapsed."

GET READY, 2008 IS ALMOST HERE!!!

The sad thing is, they really can spin anything to make it look good, and the sheep will  just wallow in it...and follow it off the cliff.

Come on folks.  Do you really think it is fair to blame someone for something a long lost relative did?  I think the idea that her spin doctors took the "facts" and made them sound better is the real issue.  It happens all the time.  Politicians at the top of the food chain  are by nature fact benders.  Nothing new here.

That was the point of the article.
The politician benders who are in fact HIRED by the politicians themselves to do JUST THAT.. Bend whatever needs to be bent .. lie to whatever extent that it takes.. so that "they"..the politicians themselves..  can continue the facade and get into office.
My personal opinion is this.. I don't think that anyone gives a flying flip that Ms Hillary has thieves and robbers for ancestors..
( but let's be honest here.... the apple don't fall too far from the tree in this case  ::) ;D)
but it is just so typical of the continual deceit, cover ups and lies that politicians involve themselves in to become elected.
And once they are elected.. it just goes to the next level.

Lighten up, guys. It just sounds to me like some people on Hillary's staff have a sense of humor. If, indeed, this story is true at all. They know perfectly well that the real story is public. After all, someone from outside sent it to them. I'd sure hate to be held responsible for my own three-generations-back ancestors, some of whom I know for a fact were less than respectable.

True, but politicians running for President are at the top of the bottom feeder food chain!!  Not a good place to be no matter how you look at it.

Cyrille:  A 'rehabilitated crook";  would that be something like "an honest lawyer"?

Crooks, like life-long smokers can be "cured" but lawyers! The devil has two levels in hades for them;  the upper[cooler] level is for the dishonest ones, shysters, ambulance chasers, etc. The lower or warmer level is for the honest ones. Funny thing though, seems all of the lawyers there are on the upper level!!

"Intimate dealings" with the rail road?  As in, waving a gun in peoples' faces?  Blowing the door off the safe in the express car?  Stuffing other peoples' money in his flour sack?    :o
