I've been humming this one all day.  don't know why it popped up. ;D

PHILADELPHIA LAWYER (AKA "RENO BLUES")
(WOODY GUTHRIE) (1937)

Way out in Reno, Nevada,
Where romance blooms and fades,
A great Philadelphia lawyer
Was in love with a Hollywood maid.
"Come, love, and we will wander
Down where the lights are bright.
I'll win you a divorce from your husband,
And we can get married tonight."
Wild Bill was a gun-totin' cowboy,
Ten notches were carved in his gun.
And all the boys around Reno
Left Wild Bill's maiden alone.
One night when he was returning
From ridin' the range in the cold,
He dreamed of his Hollywood sweetheart,
Her love was as lasting as gold.

As he drew near her window,
A shadow he saw on the shade;
'Twas the great Philadelphia lawyer
Makin' love to Bill's Hollywood maid.
The night was as still as the desert,
The moon hangin' high overhead.
Bill listened awhile to the lawyer,
He could hear ev'ry word that he said:

"Your hands are so pretty and lovely,
Your form's so rare and divine.
Come go with me to the city
And leave this wild cowboy behind."
Now back in old Pennsylvania,
Among those beautiful pines,
There's one less Philadelphia lawyer
In old Philadelphia tonight.
We done it for Dixie,  nothing else

"I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved."

nutha Love song ;D

Fer you, Roo ;)

Youd think that people would have had enought of silly love songs.
But I look around me and I see it isnt so.
Some people wanna fill the world with silly love songs.
And whats wrong with that?
Id like to know, cause here I go again
I love you, I love you,
I love you, I love you,
I cant explain the feelings plain to me, say cant you see?
Ah, she gave me more, she gave it all to me
Now cant you see,
Whats wrong with that
I need to know, cause here I go again
I love you, I love you

Love doesnt come in a minute,
Sometimes it doesnt come at all
I only know that when Im in it
It isnt silly, no, it isnt silly, love isnt silly at all.

How can I tell you about my loved one?
How can I tell you about my loved one?

How can I tell you about my loved one?
(I love you)
How can I tell you about my loved one?
(I love you)

My all time fav-or-ite love song.....

You love her
But she loves him
And he loves somebody else
You just can't win
And so it goes
Till the day you die
This thing they call love
It's gonna make you cry
I've had the blues
The reds and the pinks
One thing for sure

(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah

Two by two and side by side
Love's gonna find you yes it is
You just can't hide
You'll hear it call
Your heart will fall
Then love will fly
It's gonna soar
I don't care for any casanova thing
All I can say is
Love stinks

(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah

I've been through diamonds
I've been through minks
I've been through it all
Love stinks

(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah
(Love stinks)
Love stinks yeah yeah

I've always been sorta partial to"If you're not with the one you love, Honey, love the one you're with".  The Moose doesn't think that's funny.  Redheads have no sense of humor.

I kind a like this on, Ian again, kinda a slow Wlaz, I sell a lot of that CD when a couple is in wantin' my suggestion for some music they both would like. ;D  Play that and if they are cowboy types the'll most the time walk out with the CD, and hand in hand. ;D

Have complained enough that some Wedding dance DJ should have it sometime, heck they play most times C&W at the ones I go to, might ought to slip the CD in Rita's purse next time. ::)

Take a walk with me- he said
Down by the river
i've got something to show you
Something I want you to see
What the hell for she said
That just leads to more grievin'
I see yer packed and  you're leavin'
On the Rodeo Road.

One more time please walk with me
To the bridge on the river
Where we through down our pennies
Where we wished on the stars
And she - hesitated
Too many nights she had waited
It got so she hated
The rodeo road

He said I brought my riggin' bag
My spurs my chaps and saddle
For I know the time has come to let' em go
So hold on to me my darlin'
As I lean out of this trestle
And he dropped 'em into the waters down below

They stayed for a long long time
Till the spell it was broken
Then they walked to the Antler Bar
Hand and Hand in the rain
Outside the wind sighed
inside the jute box cried
He'd made his last ride - on the rodeo road
There will always be the other
His first lover - the rodeo road

I may have put this up before....But has Chris told Toby in the duet cover that is a Love Song

Copenhagen
It makes me feel so good
Copenhagen
The way I know it should
I put a lil' chew in my mouth
Go spittin' and a slobberin' all around the house
That Copenhagen it makes me feel so good
Well I took a chew just the other night
It made me feel just fine
I grabbed my honeybaby and I pinched her ol' behind
She said you better spit out that chewing terbaccer
If you wanna kiss me on the big ol' smacker
That Copenhagen
It makes me feel so good
Copenhagen
It makes me feel so good
Copenhagen
The way I know it should
I put a lil' chew in my mouth
Go hackin' and a gaggin' all around the house
That Copenhagen it makes me feel so good
Well I was sitting in a bar room when I took a lil' dip
Drinkin' beer and talkin' but I had no place to spit
So I spit a stream out on the floor
The  bouncer flung me out the door
That Copenhagen it makes me feel so good
Copenhagen
It makes me feel so good
Copenhagen
The way I know it should
I put a lil' chew in my mouth
Go spittin' and a slobberin' all around the house
That Copenhagen it makes me feel so good
Well it's a cure-all too
Cures fits, warts, freckles, coughs, colds, runny nose
Guaranteed not rip, run or snag
Make conception a wonder and childbirth a pleasure
That's Copenhagen
Copenhagen it makes me feel so good Yeah

Arcey, that brings back some memories of old Gloria,  a girl in our school,  when the women went to protesting and burning bras, back in the mid 60's,   one day she just left hers home,  sure made us sit up and take notice,  that was the first time we'd ever seen anything like that,  the principal made her wear her sweater the rest of the day and told her not to come back like that, but I sure remember that 1st hour English class that day.   :o :o ;D ;D

"Course in the late 60's there was also this classic by Charrlie Walker:

My friend - he fixed me up
With a girl he said he knew
He  guarenteed we'd get along just fine ...
And when I went to pick her up
I  found out what he meant
He knows that strange and weary things
Are a hobby of mine.

I wouldn't take her to a dog fight
Or any other place I've ever been ...
I wouldn't take her to a dog fight
Not even if she had a chance to win.

Cu-ri-os-i-ty; They say killed the cat
And I've been the curious sort all of my life
I hung around convinced; She couldn't really look that bad
She got me drunk and when I woke up; I found I had a wife.

wouldn't take her to a dog fight
Or any other place I've ever been ...
I wouldn't take her to a dog fight
Not even if she had a chance to win.

Gloria's a great one.
Them got screwed on airplay because of one line sayin she comes in his room an makes hhim feel alright.  Shadows of Night covered it with a few changes an got rich.  Good thing it's the original that gets all the recognition these days.
