Good vocalizin SHB  ;D

Watched a show years back that showed clips of old westerns depicting negotiations tween white men an tribe members.  Someone got a trasnlator an subtitled what the Indian words really meant.  Can't recall exacts from memory but it was akin to supthin like this...

Calvery Captain: "You must leave this land and come with us to the reservation".

(insert tribe) Chief: "Our toes will swim lizzard"

Talk about the movies not given a damn...sheesh  ???

An I left out the standard third line where the Calvery tracker tells the Captin, "He says he is honored to be in your presence and will do as you please"...

Quit goin’ to theaters years ago. Did see Open Range with a pard but it was part of a business meeting. Do have the DVD set, it was a Christmas present. The other disc shows how the special effects were done. That was more entertaining than the flick for me.

The made-for-TV thing Duval ‘n Church did I watched. There’s a scene where a whore is talkin’ ‘bout gettin’ hit in the head with a bottle ‘n thrown outside. Said her hair froze to the ground. Then she smiles ‘n her teeth are perfect ‘n whiter than white. Just doesn’t seem to fit.

I can’t look at Church without thinkin’ of him as a goofy aircraft mechanic.

All I did was name it ‘n get it started. The posse made it great. A debt I can never repay. Thank you, mi amigos.

It may be his best role!

But - giving him a break, he's not TOO bad.  I liked his acting in Tombstone.  (says Doc) "You know: Stephen ....ing Foster!"  I enjoy that part and later when Doc says (to IKE) "I know ... we'll have a spelling contest!"  Doc has the best lines, but Church played the fool well.

You and Susie think the same way, lR. She gives me a lot of grief when I watch the History Channel. Usually have to go in the other room to watch it..................Buck 8) ::)

Buck, I watch movies for the entertainment value,   I know Del's fort the men all run off cuz they was scared of being scalped..Got 2 books to back it up so it's got to be correct. ;D ;D<<< If I want the facts I go to the Internet (intended as sarcasism) or watch Discovery or History Channel.  You read 2 books on the same subject or event and you have 2 different outcomes.

I enjoyed Church in the Westerns but I am like Arcey, I still picture him as the Goofey mechanic in "Wings"

I love that line!  That portrayal/version of Doc is my hero. ;D

I loved Church in Broken Trail, but I agree, I also keep seeing Lowell whenever I look at him or hear his voice. ;D ;D

Great song, SHB.  ;D

Slim

Thanks, - Slim, Leo, and Buck!

I've decided that songwriting is my hidden talent.  Last night after my successful songwriting debut here on CAS City, I decided to go all the way, so I got out my Phillips cassette recorder, recorded me singin' my first song, and sent copies to Garth Brooks, Bette Midler, Neil Sedaka, Brooks & Dunn, Elton John, Tupac Shakur, Rascal Flatts, Michael Jackson, Toby Keith and several record company executives.

I can't WAIT to hear back from all of them!!!

Whaddya think?

SHB, I'm sure you'll be hearing from them very soon.  If not directly, then from their representation. :o ::) ;D

Here's one for litl rooster.  It's your fault it's stuck in my head! ;D

I want a girl with a mind like a diamond
I want a girl who knows what's best
I want a girl with shoes that cut
And eyes that burn like cigarettes

I want a girl with the right allocations
Who's fast and thorough
And sharp as a tack
She's playing with her jewelry
She's putting up her hair
She's touring the facility
And picking up slack

I want a girl with a short skirt and a lonnnng jacket......

I want a girl who gets up early
I want a girl who stays up late
I want a girl with uninterrupted prosperity
Who used a machette to cut through red tape
With fingernails that shine like justice
And a voice that is dark like tinted glass

She is fast and thorough
And sharp as a tack
She's touring the facility
And picking up slack

I want a girl with a short skirt and a lonnnnng.... lonnng jacket

I want a girl with a smooth liquidation
I want a girl with good dividends
And at the city bank we will meet accidentally
We'll start to talk when she borrows my pen

She wants a car with a cupholder arm rest
She wants a car that will get her there
She's changing her name from Kitty to Karen
She's trading her MG for a white Chrysler La Baron

I want a girl with a short skirt and a lonnnnggggggggg jacket

Here Rooster.
     I sing this'un to Lil...

My Dixie darlin' listen to this song I sing
Beneath the silver moon
With my banjo right in tune
My heart is ever true, I love no one but you
My Dixie darlin' my Dixie dream

A way down below the Mason-Dixon Line
Down where the honeysuckles are entwined
There's where the southern winds are blowin'
There's where the daisies growing
Girls of the North in their gay finery
Whirling around in their high society
Singing a song of Dixie darlin'
Where I long to be

My Dixie darlin' listen to this song I sing
Beneath the silver moon
With my banjo right in tune
My heart is ever true, I love no one but you
My Dixie darlin' my Dixie dream

I'm going down south to have a big time
See my gal in ole Caroline
I'll drink my booze and do as I please
All them gals I long to squeeze
Singin' the song of Dixie darlin'
There's where I long to be going
Down where the jelly roll's rollin'
With my Dixie dream

My Dixie darlin' listen to this song I sing
Beneath the silver moon
With my banjo right in tune
My heart is ever true, I love no one but you
My Dixie darlin' my Dixie belle
"When you have to shoot, shoot.  Don't talk."
Tuco--The Good the Bad and the Ugly

"First comes smiles, then lies.  Last is gunfire."

Actualy this is the version I meant.
It's gettin to be a pain in the a** to find lyrics on the innernet anymore...

My Dixie Darling
Listen to the song I sing
Beneath the silvery moon
With a banjo right in tune
I love no one but you
My heart is always true
My Dixie Darling
My Dixie Belle

Well I just got back from out of town
I've been rambling round and round
I met lots of Southern belles
But I've no romance to tell
I've been as true as true can be
I swear that on my bended knee
There is no one half as swell
As my Dixie Belle

CHORUS

I like whisky I like gin
I like the horses when they win
Gambling at Kentucky races
I meet lots of pretty faces
But there is one thing I will bet
My Dixie belle is the prettiest yet
There is no one half as swell
As my Dixie Belle

CHORUS

I'm gonna marry, settle down
Settle down in a southern town
Buy myself a small homestead
Live in peace until I'm dead
There is no one half as swell
Listen here, I wanna tell
There is no one half as swell
As my Dixie Belle

CHORUS
"When you have to shoot, shoot.  Don't talk."
Tuco--The Good the Bad and the Ugly

"First comes smiles, then lies.  Last is gunfire."
     Roland Deschain

"Every man steps in the manure now an again, trick is not ta stick yer foot in yer mouth afterward"

Tex the pilots would have kept me off the plane...At least Lowell was funny

here's a song for no paticular reason other than I felt like it.

Look over yonder what do you see
The sun is a-risin' most definitely
A new day is comin' people are changin'
Ain't it beautiful crystal blue persuasion

Better get ready gonna see the light
Love, love is the answer and that's all right
So don't you give up now so easy to find
Just look to your soul and open your mind

Crystal blue persuasion, mm-hmm
It's a new vibration
Crystal blue persuasion, crystal
Blue persuasion
Maybe tomorrow when He looks down
Every green field and every town
All of his children every nation
There'll be peace and good brotherhood
Crystal blue persuasion

There was also "I think we're alone now" and of course this one...

Ah, now I don't hardly know her
But I think I could love her
Crimson and clover

Ah when she comes walking over
Now I've been waitin' to show her
Crimson and clover over and over

Yeah, my, my such a sweet thing
I wanna do everything
What a beautiful feeling
Crimson and clover over and over

Crimson and clover over and over
Crimson and clover over and over
Crimson and clover over and over
Crimson and clover over and over

I wonder what ever happened to them?

Watch the County fair listings He still tours

Local Radio station is doing a "Under the Covers Weekend"  songs you know by different folks

R.E.M. has cyrstal Blue on their new release...Well done if I might add, IMHO

Here's another from back in them days

It's the time of the season
When the love runs high
In this time, give it to me easy
And let me try
With pleasured hands

To take you and the sun to
Promised lands
To show you every one
It's the time of the season for loving

What's your name?
(What's your name?)
Who's your daddy?
(Who's your daddy? He rich?)
Is he rich like me?

Has he taken
(Has he taken)
Any time
(Any time to show)
To show you what you need to live?
Tell it to me slowly
Tell you what?
I really want to know
It's the time of the season for loving

What's your name?
(What's your name?)
Who's your daddy?
(Who's your daddy? He rich?)
Is he rich like me?

Has he taken
(Has he taken)
Any time
(Any time to show)
To show you what you need to live?
Tell it to me slowly
Tell you what?
I really want to know
It's the time of the season for loving
