NEWS: Ruger getting serious about CAS!!
« on: November 11, 2004, 03:22:47 PM »
Press release this morning.
New Vaquero with pre-'63 XR3 gripframe, smaller mainframe, hard rubber grips, crescent ejector rod head, re-contoured hammer, new hammer spring, reverse indexing pawl to line up chambers with loading gate like the Colts.
Blue & stainless, all three barrel lengths, .45 Colt & .357 Mag.

+++++++++

Got this in an email this morning.. sounds like the best of the old Blackhawks in a Vaquero.
I don't expect to see them anytime soon, but I'll probably have to look at a pair.  I love my old 3 screw.

Adios,

Dare I say it.....? That could almost tempt ME into getting Roogers and retiring the Cimmy Ps! Stainless, no less!

I wonder if our friend Rusty Marlin had his DGB hand in this? If this thing comes out as advertised, Colt better look out for their little bit of market share. This thing might be a real winner. Might have to rethink my .45 Colt brace...........Buck 8) :o ::) ;D
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

another thought here. What's the current suggested retail on the larger Vaq's? I know what they're selling for around here, just wanted to try and gauge the differential to get a feel for what the actual might be..........Buck 8) ::) ;D

According to the press release, Ruger will even be offering factory engraving. This could be huge!

Well, maybe... Opinions on the chances of them making a .44-40 chambering? My Rossi 92 is a .44-40 and I've decided that my late-era persona must have pistols in the same caliber.

This is going to be huge. Ruger will sell so many of these! I wonder if the price on the big Vaqueros is going to take a nose dive?

Someone at Ruger was listening.  With the Euro going up, these will really be the hot ticket.  I need a couple now!
