Rodeo vs. premium USFA revolvers

Are there any performance or handling advantages of the premium revolvers (Cowboy or the Single Action) over the Rodeo?  Or is it mainly a matter of looks?

It is just a matter of looks.  Internals are the same for both premium and Rodeo revolvers.

The Beauty of any USFA SAA is that machanically on the inside they are all equal in function and performance.  The Rodeo's finish is very durable and a little more forgiving than the Premium's finish, but if you were going to limit yourself to just one, the Case Colors and Blue finish of the Premium are fantastic.  If you do decide to go with the Rodeo, I do suggest getting the Case Colored Hammer if you can.

While I agree that mechanically speaking the internals of the rodeo and SAA in USFA guns are the same,  to me a big part of shooting in having a beautiful revolver in your hand putting lead down range.  While the Rodeo will get the lead down range just like the SAA,  part of the thrill is what happens before the lead gets to the target.   If you only plan to get one USFA gun,  make sure Doug Turnbull  has done his magic on it.   Safe shooting.  Deadeye.

I like the SA and the Gunslinger. The 'antique' of the gunslinger just hits a warm spot wit me. The classic look of the SA does to,,...

Still teh Rodeo has a tasteful finish even if not historic. I wonder what the 'matte' finish would look like after a couple years of leather and shootin' ? Id guess it ages pretty nice really.

I have a pair of Long Hunter Rodeo's  in 38 special. After about 2 years they have started to turn a grey color. Thet look realy nice now. IMHO                                                                                                                                                ws

I don't think the Rodeo or some others have the cylinder bushing or firing pin bushing like the Pre-War.

They surely do. Same as SAA, or the PreWar, Only difference is the finish.
