Hunt 1849 & Jennings 1850-51
« on: February 16, 2007, 07:01:09 AM »
I'm looking for photos of the little known Hunt 1849 and the Jennings 1850-51.
In the book,Guns of the Western Indian War stand the following:
'Beginning with the little known Hunt of 1849,the Jennings 1850-51, and the Volcanic 1855, the Henry was the confluence of good ideas and manufacturing technology that could finally provide their expression...'
Never heard of the Hunt and Jennings before. So are there any pics of these two rifles?
 ;)

Give me some time.  I believe I have several books in my library that have both.  I will see what I can dig up.

I wish I had seen this question a week ago.  I had a book about Winchester that had pictures of them.  I got it at the library.

A Jennings Rifle between a Model of 1841 Mississippi Rifle and a Sharps Model of 1851 Rifle or “box-lock” model, first made here in 1852
