USFA Flat Top Targets

Hey ya'll I just wanted to see your USFA Flat Top Target pics or hear your opinions about this beautiful saa.

I have 2 USFA China Camps and 3 Rodeos but no Flattop Targets. I'm waiting for USFA to make a fully adjustable sight version of the Colt New Frontier. I'd order one of those in a heartbeat. I recently ordered one, but do not have it yet.  They must be pretty good because I saw in Hamilton Bowen's book "The Custom Revolver" where he has used the USFA Flattop for some of his special projects and speaks highly of USFA SAA's.  In the meantime, I must be patient.

Can't wait to see your flat top Doc, what grips and barrel length did you choose?

I went with checkered Walnut, and with a 7 1/2" barrel.

I finally got the Flat Top, but it came with standard grips instead of Checkered Walnut.  I will take it to the range here soon and let you know how it did.  Pics will follow soon also.

Doc,   Did you order the checkered? If so I assume you paid for the checkered also and ended up with smooth?  Are you going to call USFA or just keep them as is?

It arrived without and the invoice reflected it that way.  After a long wait, and being my first USFA FlatTop, I just kept it.  I have other special orders in and didn't want to create too much of it knowing that things do happen.

I have a Flat Top in 32-20 that I've been shooting for the past 8 months.  Great gun!  I bought mine used but it was "as new" and has the case colored receiver with 7 1/2" barrel.  Very accurate with 115 grain bullets and Bullseye powder.

Congrats on your USFA Flat Top Targets. They are beautifully made pistols but I cannot afford one. Therefore, I settled on the working cowboy's cousin of the Flat Top from Uberti with 7,5" barrel, BP frame in .45 Colt some 8 years back. The dealer added a complete overhaul of the action and I fitted Gripmaker's PU grips with the longhorn to fill the right hand. Being an average shooter only on a good & sunny day I can easily hit head size targets 100 yards away with these old fashioned sights using a two-handed stance. So, the accuracy potentials is there.
Not to steal your thread but to add my experience with a similar pistol.
