Celebrating my big 59 this week end . Going to a Black Powder Rendezvous and Cartridge Shoot . bunch of my pards are holding the 30th Anniversary of their Range ..so I'm hoping for clear skies and dry powder...

What am I doing this weekend ?

Saturday and Sunday.

I will be up at the range getting it ready for our State Titles in July.

Saturday, cleaning up, Sunday, taking my ladyfriend to her first cowboy shoot and then packing for a week away with work in the Snowy Mountains. I used to work down there and my Bro-in -law is having hos retirement send off down that way on the Wednesday night, so my lady friend and eldest son will be travelling down with me. They will be doing to tourist thing while I am slaving away over a hot computer, graonnnnnnnnnnnn. It will be nice to have company while I'm away though.

Going to a Regional Black Powder Muzzle loader Shoot just a few miles away .

Great weekend and special this year it will finish up with a CAS shoot on Sunday afternoon .

All that and GREAT FOOD as well!!

Saturday.

Last weekend before our State Titles,so will be up at the range and we are going to start setting out the ranges.

Sunday.

Friends are bringing up their van so I can get it set up on the range for them.

Went to get my guns out of the safe in the garage (under the house) this morning and as I switched the alarms off and went to open the door, the door locking device broke and no way could I get it open. So much for shooting at Cowra with the Cowra Cowboys! Anyway, I gave up after an hour or so struggling in the dark and waking the neighbours (it's a wonder they didn't call the cops) and headed off to my lady's place had brekky and drove to the range and played spectators for the day. It was my lady's first look at SAS and she is stoked, grilling the ladies about costumes, (I bought her a cowboy hat the other day to get her started) guns (she likes the look of the Ruger singe six in 32). Apart from the snaffu with the door, it was a top day. Mick.

Cowboy shoot at Mudgee/Ilford Saturday and off to Sydney on Sunday for Circus Soliel, then we will spend the week driving my parents interstate for Dad's Army reunion. He was a member of the Australian 2/14th Infantry Battalion. They, with a Militia/reserve Battalion were the guys who inflicted Japan's first defeat in a land battle in 425 years on the Kokoda Tarck in New Guinea. They were known as 'The Quiet Men' by the Japs. Tough old buggars. dad had a fall a few weeks ago and punctured his right eyeball. He lost the sight in the eye, but it hasn't changed much else, he's still in high spirits and wants to meet his old mates for a shindig.

I forgot to mention, that's all dependant on me getting the garage door open tomorrow, it's still broken and I haven't had time to fix it. I've got a tradesman coming tomorrow, hopefully all will be ready by the weekend. I can put up with missing one shoot, but two is too much to ask!

I'm going down to Bowral P/C to shoot Cowboy Lever Action Silhouette. It's about 3hrs drive south of where I live.

Sunday.

Shoot a Cowboy match at Kenthurst on my way home.

Shot at Mudgee/Ilford today (Winter Muster) shot all over the place, it was soooooooooooooooo cold and windy, brrrrrr. Off to Circus Soliel tomorrow!

Not that hot here,still one month of winter to go.

I'll be at the range on Saturday,having rifle problems it's a Marlin and it has worked well for the ten years that I have owned it, let me down in the warm up match before our state titles, I think I may have it fixed.

Sunday stay at home with the little lady.

Went to the bullseye range today, bought a fine old 38 S&W Special Wadcutter auto. Shot a personal best straight off. Nice machine. I'll dust off the BMW and go for a ride tomorrow, bit cold, but Long undies will do the trick. Mick.
