USFA converted dragoon on Cowboys TV Show
« on: July 21, 2006, 01:32:42 PM »
How many of y'all saw the recent episode of COWBOYS TV that featured a trip to the USFA factory?  They showed a conversion based on a dragoon that had a very interesting and different design.  It had a loading gate. There was no wedge.  There was some sort of latch on the bottom of the frame in front of the trigger guard, and when released the barrel rotated on the frame such that the rammer became an ejector!  Not a historically accurate design as far as I know, but very cool!

I was under the impression that this was an experimental gun made some time ago, but I'm not sure.  Wonder if USFA might have any future plans for this one??  Might not be SASS legal, but I bet they'd sell a few.

Cool looking gun,  I wasn't listening real close, so I just thought it was something that was going to be coming out.  I'd like to handle one to just see how it felt.
We done it for Dixie,  nothing else
