Ice is Broken!
« on: June 26, 2006, 04:49:14 AM »
Howdy to all,

It got so quiet I figured someone needed to break the ice and get people talking again.  Hope everyone's summer is going well?  I will admit I have been cheat'n on my cowboy shooting lately by shooting alot of 1911's lately and trying to get into sporting clays.  There is just something about moving targets that is fun.  Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if any USFA SAA's were used in recent AMC Movie "Broken Trail", and does anyone have anything new from USFA that they want to share info or excitement about?

I've kinda been on a break for my Cowboy shooting lately, but expect to get fired up again in a big way when the weather cools down here in the Pheonix Valley. It just ain't fun to me shooting in 100+ degree weather!

I doubt they were using USFAs in Broken Trail, beings they are so pricey. More than likely they are using Ubertis. When I was asked to be a Technical Advisor/ Gun Coach in a local production that is still in the pre-production phase, I recommended Ubertis from EMF because of the cost. I still hope to get to do that, but the last I heard, there wasn't much movement going on with that project.

Doc,
Good to see someone else posting on this board.  It has been TOO quiet around here lately.  Wonder where everyone has wandered off to?  Virginia Gentleman, who used to be quite active here, hasn't signed on to Cascity since April 5th.  Hope he is doing okay.

Rawhide,
A little warm down in Phoenix is it?  The other day it was 80 here in Seattle.  Daughter in Sacramento called and said it was 112 there.  Sacramento is half-way between Seattle and Phoenix so I figure it must be about 144 down there  ;D.

Yesterday, it was reading 118 on our back patio, but it sure felt like it was 144! I've been here most of my life and I am getting ready to move to a cooler climate and less populated area in the next couple years. It is wonderful 8 months of the year, but the 4 summer months are getting to be killers.

I am in a similar boat, the weather here along the Great Lake of Erie is constantly Grey.  There are times I would swear that the weather people say that today's weather is crappy with extended crappiness in the forecast.  I am tired of 8 months of grey winter, no spring, humid summers that seem to last for a few weeks, usually a nice fall, and then back in the grey fog again.

I was also wondering about our fellow colleague Virginian Gentleman?  Hope to hear from him soon.
