Finally got one done, almost
« on: January 23, 2012, 05:22:41 PM »
This is a link to the 1911 holster and its progress.  Still needs work to be a finished holster but I am really happy with the pattern part of the deal.  I also need to come up with a safety strap that will blend in practically  with the design. http://www.cascity.com/forumhall/index.php/topic,41838.0.html

Thanks Jefro, In my opinion it is an attractive holster and should appeal to those who like the extra drop in their cowboy holsters and want to match that with their WB rig.  Personally I like the real high rides, more like the California Slim Jims that I carry revolvers in.  This one turned out so well that I think I will make at least one more with a partial stainless liner.

I posted this on the SASS WB Forum earlier and thought I would show you guys also.   The mag pouch has not finished drying from being wet formed is the reason for the dark areas but it is a great fit.

That is a nice holster pattern !!

Look at the way Mernickle does a safety thong on his WB holsters.

Actually I have just been taking the photos on a white backdrop laying on the wifes coffee table!  I have been trapping the flash down and shooting from a tri-pod and that is about as technical as this old red neck is good fer.   I have honestly been thinking about regular selling but I do not think the timing has really been right for a new start up leather business.  With such a bad economy combined with slower SASS membership growth it would be a tough sell to the many pards who are already so well equipped and in many cases have become brand loyal.  The fact that I just lost my medical insurance for Medicare will have me thinking hard on it!  At this time I would have no idea how to even price anything.
