Having a weekend at home for a change. Sat morning, spot of food shopping, centrefire match at the pistol club, clean up garage, try and fit safe and reloading should see me out. Have a good one, Mick.

PS apparently we were on the regional news last night. A friend recorded it apparently. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Had a great weekend at home, caught up Sat morning, shot a centrefire match at 1300, pottered about at home, read, cooked a baked dinner, read and surfed the net. Pouring rain this morning, outdoor chores put on hold, fiddled about, worked up loads for my cowboy guns all arvo (I haven't been in a position to load and have been shooting factory ammo for a while $$$$$$$$!!!!). My girl came over tonight with a casserole and a home cooked apple pie, watched a movie (walking the line) had seconds on the pie a few minutes ago, a sip of port and into bed soon. Been a good weekend all told!

Off to the rifle range tomorrow to test my loads ;D ;D ;D ;D

Fourfingers.

Sounds like you had a good weekend. I took the 76 to range on Saturday and put a few loads through it,worked well with 15 grains of Trailboss and 300 grain projectile. I also have been doing some work on a 73 I bought, put a short stroke kit in it  and I think I may have it working OK,not good but OK which is better them I have had it working lot of fiddling. :D

Yesterday I spent in the shed, lubing bullets and cleaning cases trimming down some 45-70 cases back to 45=60 length and loading some 45-60 cases so I will take it back to the range on Saturday.

I liked the Trail Boss in the 44/40 but I noticed in the Thales / ADI site that in the 45/70 it returned significantly higher pressure that AR2207 and for a lot less velocity. I tried everywhere to get an 1876, no joy at all. I ended up buying a 45/70 XLR or whatever it is. Barry Smith at Sefton is making up a mag tube and slicking it up/de burring/ de horning it for me. It should be a sweet rifle when I get it. I have a BPCR in 45/70 which pretty much covers the long range shoots.

No shooting this weekend, visiting dad and mom on saturday arvo, dinner and Leo Sayer concert, camping at a smart pub in Sydney and a drive back via Mount Wilson for a nice picnic and then home.

Back to the range on Monday arvo though! ;D

I will have to try some loads for my 45/70 BPCR. After a disasterous shoot with the 30/30 at Cooyal, I will shoot single shot at the nationals, I won't have the permit for the Marlin in time. I have a 375 Win whick I can run 38/55 loads through, but it has a reciever sight   :( I also have a 444S, but that calibre is verboten and I sold an 1875 45/70 to a friend and could borrow it back for a week or so, but it also has a reciever sight,  >:(

I don't know how the BPCR will go with the big tang sights at 50 metres, I'll pull the disc out and try it 'ghost ring' style.

I have had it for over 10 years and never got around to using it much. This will at least make me get it out of the back of the safe and blow the cobwebs out of it.

last night, a friend rode up from Sydney on the way to a rally at Tottneham in the far west of the state. He stayed at one of the local pubs and we sat and jawed and drank raspberry cordials until 4am!!!! I'm getting too old for this sort of stuff!

Today, Saturday, visit for lunch from my parents as they head west for an 80th birthday party. Down to the polling booths, handed out how to vote cards for a friend who is standing for election to the local council. She is retired and drives her hubby into the ground with community stuff, on boards nd projects everywhere, flat out all the time. They should take up shooting and do something enjoyable with their time  ;D

Off to shoot with the Cowra Cowboys tomorrow.

It's a bit quiet here lately. No shooting this weekend, picking up my ladyfriend's new caravan tomorrow and we are off for a trial run to iron bugs out, etc, before heading north next week for Chisholm Trail (Aussie equivalent to EOT).

Wow! That jousting looks like a hoot! I'm getting a bit long in the tooth though, if I was knocked off one of those hosses, I don't think I'd get up in a hurry, if at all.

I have to check, if there's any shooting available Friday, I will aim to get to Narrabri thursday arvo, if not I will be there Friday arvo.

After Narrabri and Chisholm Trial, I will be meandering back down the coast for a week or two. I mightn't be on the net for awhile, I'll see how it goes.

Four Fingers!
