Night of the Lepus, the one about the giant rabbits.

What frosts me the most about DWW is Fort Sedgewick at that time was manned by the 1St Newbrassky Cav.  They never deserted the post, I am a member of the recreated unit.  T'is an insult to a fine unit. >:(

They could have made up a fictitional fort, called it Fort Laccanowkey and I might not hate it quite so bad.

That's kinda the way I felt about Walker Texas Ranger. They started out filming in Fort Worth and then theymoved to Dallas and still called it Tarrant County.  Dallas Is in Dallas County and Fort Worth is in Tarrant County.

Can you imagine the rage though if they made a show where the Texas Rangers decided not to do there duty?

Del, There are only about Rangers for the entire state.  They are broken into Companies which are in different parts of the state.  We have 254 counties in Texas, so there re not enough to cover the entire state.  "One Riot  One Ranger".   They are the Criminal investigators of our State Police. They assist small with investigations that the small dept. don't have the manpower or resources for.

On September 1, 2007, the size of the Ranger force was increased from 118 to 134 commissioned members by the Texas Legislature. These Rangers are supervised by a Senior Captain (Chief), Assistant Chief, a Headquarters Captain and Lieutenant, seven field captains and fourteen lieutenants. The force is organized into seven companies, "A" through "G".  A Captain, Lieutenant and from two to four Rangers are located at each of the seven Company Headquarters. The seven field Headquarters offices are located in Houston, Company "A"; Garland, Company "B"; Lubbock, Company "C"; San Antonio, Company "D"; Midland, Company "E"; Waco, Company "F"; McAllen, Company "G". Other Rangers are stationed in various towns and cities in the state, with each Ranger having responsibility for a minimum of two to three counties, some with even larger areas.

Thanks, i knew it was something like that.

If they take a historical person or place in a movie, make the story right, otherwise make something up for a person(s) or place and I don't care.   >:(

If they didn't make it up they would have to do actual research.  Most of em don't have the brains for that.  In almost every modern movie you will see scenes where the hero's shirt gets ripped or his hat flies off and in that very next shot it's back to normal.  If they can't keep simple things like that straight, how are they ever going to deal with actual facts?  ???

Why should they let a little thing like facts or details stand in the way of takin' our ca$h?

Buck it don't seem to improve the plot or make the movie any more exciting to show some guy getting shot in slow motion from 75 different camera angles.

I don't even watch TV on the same floor as Rita. ;D  Don't expect a Dock-you-ment-tree out of a movie, just don't want history changed.  Like Larry M.  in Dead man's Walk, Big Foot Wallace gets and black bean and is shot, funny somewhere I have a picture of him as an old man holdin' and 1886 Winchester, good trick sine LM killed him off in the late 1840's. ::)

I love to watch the history channel.  In order to retain any facts, however, I have to watch a show about five times.  The first two times for entertainment, and the next three in the hopes that some of the facts/details will stick in my sieve of a brain. ::) :D

I agree with you about the movies.  Life is just too boring to pay money to go watch it. ;D

I s'pose I could write a song 'bout it (note thread name  ;) ) but I got real excited watchin' the History Channel today!  It was a Modern Marvels piece from 2004 about Civil War weapons.  I watched a feller actually loading a Henry (repro) the RIGHT WAY!  :o

Usually, it seems the "experts" pull up the follower, DROP in the cartridges, then let the follower slam down!  I usually duck away from the TV screen when that happens!  ::) ::)

It was really cool watchin' this feller do it safely!

(to the tune of "Yankee Doodle":)

The History Channel got it right -
While loading up a Hen - ry ;
They put the rounds into the tube -
And did it very safely.

(chorus)

Load it up and have some fun -
Load it up real safe-ly;
Do it right and you'll be glad -
'Cause you'll be here to-mor-row!

 ;D
