Yup! They's still being made. Imported by EMF and a couple of other companies. If you want a really supurb Rossi, you should contact Nate Kiowa Jones (AKA Steve Young) of Rossi Specialists.
www.stevesgunz.comSteve will do an action job on your gun, or sell you a brand spankin new one with the action job already done. And Steve is the FINEST Rossi smith bar none!. What he does to a Rossi is simply magic! I've never owned one of his action jobs but have handled quite a few of them and I have always been impressed. And I've never met anyone who owns one his actions who didn't love it!
I do my own work on my Rossi lever guns and Steve has been really nice about giving me advise, and he sells spare parts for them too.
BTW, should you decide to do your own work on a Rossi, I don't recommend that you follow the instruction in the above artical anymore, when it comes to the springs. Instead, I recommend the Lee's Gunslinger Spring Kit to replace all the stock springs. It's available through Brownells. I've installed a couple of these kits and the owners were very happy with the results!
If you think it sounds like I'm a Rossi and Steve Young fan..yer right!
The Rossi is a good entry level gun and it is still seen in the hands of some top shooters too. Its a rugged little gun and FAST. They can be a bear to work on, but worth it!
