Trooper Ebin seems to be doing fairly well. The chemo is taking its toll on him a bit and, because of a localized infection, they had to remove the "central line" surgically implanted in chest, through which intravenous medications were to be administered and blood samples taken, on an ongoing basis. Of course, he was receiving regular antibiotics because of his seriously compromised immune system (resulting both from the leukemia and the chemotherapy.) But they are giving an oral antibiotic which seems to be doing the job. It is my understanding that they will try to install another central line in due course, as his initial regimen of treatments is scheduled to continue into February.
Treatment seems to be having a positive effect already - for example, his level of "normal (as opposed to cancerous, and thus ineffective) blood platelets had dropped as low as 12 - normal is 150 to 200 - but has now climbed back to 140.
He has a long campaign ahead of him yet, however, so continued thoughts and prayers will be greatly appreciated!
