   I figured that if I, as computer illiterate as I tend to be, could have found it, then it was common knowledge.  I apologize for not having notified anyone...But I sincerely figured that whomever was working on it would get it rectified quicker than it evidently was accomplished.  I don't tend to tell people their business when it comes to computers, just simply because I stink at the endeavor.  You will NEVER hear me give advice or commands when it comes to computers.  Except for the fact that they keep me connected to my friends and family, I'd chuck them completely and never look back.

There is one more good thing about my computer.  I can play endless Solitaire and not get tired from the shuffling and dealing.

It has been 12 days since I started this thread about the City of Howard's website and from what I've been told everyone is fully aware of the problem. Ten working days tomorrow and this website has still not even been changed or disabled. So we know this has been up at least a month and nothing has been rectified. It's ridiculous. Even the city workers just laugh about it. I'm glad our city dollars are being well spent on illiterate individuals to put up such an atrocity and just call it good. We, the county seat, are the laughingstock of Elk County!!

Wilma, I'm going to ignore you and assume that you're around my age. Therefore, why do you continue asking ignorant questions repeatedly? If you cared about your community as much as I do and our community's image as much as I do, you would call and complain too. But you keep coming back to me and only me. Therefore, you're just targeting me. Apparently, I'm important enough that you read what I have posted, you care what I have posted but only want to ask ignorant questions to me. Why don't you ask what kind of ignorant person would put such an atrocity up and continue to leave it up without fixing the problem? Why don't you help to be the solution instead of being part of the problem going on in our little community? Maybe if you call city hall and could have something worthwhile to contribute to this conversation, we could compare notes. Stop playing solitaire and use your phone and computer for good, not evil!

Perhaps a better way to get results would be to take your concerns to the City Council.  I doubt that any of them read the Forum and are probably not aware of the situation.  This Forum isn't really the way to accomplish anything in Elk County.  Dealing directly with the people that can make changes works better.

   There have been 583 views on this subject in less than 2 weeks. Someone has read it and I'm sure someone has informed our city council and city employees. And the reason I don't respond to your idiocy and your insistence on who I have talked to, is only because you would jump to their defense, yet again. There's a reason why I don't post much on here and mainly just read. There's an old saying, with age comes wisdom; now that's just not true in every case. For example: here's a quote:

Ross has accomplished quite a bit with his reiterative thread on Elk Konnected Handouts. A lot of backroom dealings were brought to light on that thread and it has had many thousands of views and as a result we now have a new county commissioner in our district!

   You know as well as I do now who put together that appalling website as the official webpage for the city of Howard; but I was informed they are no longer employed by city hall. It's apparent that their previous employment with the county was somewhat questionable as well. And if I'm the only one who cares, why do you keep coming to this subject to scold me?  Is it because you approve of a website that is not legible? How about this scenario: let's say I have a secretary and my secretary types up a document that doesn't quite make sense. Do I send that document to the intended receiver without proofreading it or does she redo it in a timely manner or do I just terminate their employment? Maybe, like many other branches of the government, I would promote them and move them onto a different branch in office. Let's see how long until that branch is irreparably damaged.

You have just confirmed what I only suspected.  What would your solution be for this situation?  It is obvious that the  city needs a computer literate to fix it.  That person would expect to be paid for their services, yet the city is as in need of money as anyone else.  Perhaps when the position is filled again, the new employee will be able to take care of it.

Otherwise, would you want the city to rush out and hire a specialist to come in to fix a page that doesn't seem to be bothering anyone else?

If they can't find someone in their midst to FIX the page, then they should at least DISABLE the page! That is my solution. They don't have to THROW MONEY at EVERYTHING! That is what is wrong with this county as it is, the mindset that to fix problems you have to throw money at them!

I GIVE UP! If it's not bothering anyone else, fine. Leave it up. Let people who actually do want to look at the page and see what we have to offer, think we are all a bunch of idiots and not come here. It can't be left up to only ME to care about this community. But I would at least DISABLE the page if I didn't have a solution to fix it!

     It appears to me that the page is just missing info data. I don't think it would take a rocket scientist to fill in the missing parts, only access to it. I imagine it will take a fair amount of time, how about you giving it a try shadow? May just be a matter of copy and paste on some of it.
