Jeleane Benest-Osborn passed away in Hospice care in Rose Hill, Kansas.  She was born in Fredonia, Kansas on October 8, 1943 to Otha and Jim White.  She spent her childhood in Kansas and Texas, graduating from Severy High School in 1961.

After graduating, Jeleane married Doug Benest, and they built a life in Severy, Kansas and ran Benest Propane until Doug passed away in 1985.  While raising her family and running the business, Jeleane met Jim Osborn, and they married in 1989. They ran the business and enjoyed family life until retiring to Oklahoma to enjoy lake life, boating, grandkids, and cherished friends.  Jeleane returned to Kansas with Jim to be closer to family, and she enjoyed her grandkids to the fullest.

Jeleane is survived by her husband of 36 years, Jim Osborn; six children, Chris, Andrea, Tyler, Tyson, Tamara, and Tate; eight great-grandchildren, Brett, Jackson, Taven, Cash, Case, Taylor, Tinley, and Tristin; and her brother, Ron Grundy.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Doug Benest; her mother, Otha Grundy; her father, Jim White; her stepdad, Herschel Grundy; and her brother, Norman Grundy.

Jeleane's heart and warmth made everyone's lives better and the world a brighter place.  Services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 in Severy, Kansas at South Lawn Cemetery.  Memorials have been established to Gentivia Hospice and the Severy United Methodist Church.  Memorials may be sent in care of Affordable Cremations Plus, 7920 W. Kellogg Drive, Suite #200, 'Wichita, Kansas which has been entrusted with arrangements.
