This was a big week for lies and nastiness from the mainstream media, political wonks and  progressives.  This was the week where Richard Cohen made us gag, The NYT made up a legislative initiative just so it could trash the GOP, and Debbie Wasserman Schultz proved that she really is just an android who is programed to say its the GOP's fault and "radical tea party Republicans over and over again"

It was also the week where MSNBC's Toure' proved he didn't have the slightest knowledge of political basics such as Senatorial elections are conducted on a state-wide base.

During the past seven days, the problems with Obamacare have been blamed on everyone except Obama include Republicans, the American People and Hillary Clinton; John Kerry lied about the negotiations with Iran, Scholastic eliminated Israel; and so much more.

Below are my favorite stupid media bias tricks from the last seven days.  Headlines are linked to the full article (and will open a new window).  When it is a broadcast story the video/audio will also be found at the end of the link.

Behavior like this undermines hard-fought rights that I vigorously support. I understand "Up Late" will be taken off the schedule for tonight and next week."

A day after he questioned President Obama's decision to unwind a major tenet of the health-care law and said the nation's capital might not go along, D.C. insurance commissioner William P. White was fired.

White was called into a meeting Friday afternoon with one of Mayor Vincent C. Gray's (D) top deputies and told that the mayor "wants to go in a different direction," White told The Washington Post on Saturday.

White said the mayoral deputy never said that he was being asked to leave because of his Thursday statement on health care. But he said the timing was hard to ignore. Roughly 24 hours later, White said, he was "basically being told, 'Thanks, but no thanks.' "

White was one of the first insurance commissioners in the nation last week to push back against Obama's attempt to smooth over part of the botched rollout of the Affordable Care Act: millions of unexpected cancellations of insurance plans.

In persuading Congress to vote for the health-care overhaul, Obama had promised that Americans who liked their insurance plans would be able to keep them. When that turned out to not be the case, Obama apologized last week. And to stem growing bipartisan dissent, he announced Thursday that plans slated to be canceled next year to comply with the legislation could be extended for one year.

Barack Obama is rejecting calls from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu amid tensions over his Iranian peace deal.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lectured Barack Obama in the Oval Office on the dangers facing the Jews back in May 2011.

Haaretz reported:
Kuwaiti newspaper Al Jarida reported Sunday that U.S. President Barack Obama has been refusing to take phone calls from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu because of the tension between the two countries over how to resolve the Iranian nuclear issue.

The Prime Minister's Office issued a flat denial, saying, "The report in Al Jarida is wrong."

The White House also denied the reports.

Al Jarida, which has previously reported information that was later verified about a leak investigation taking place in Netanyahu's bureau, says that on Friday, Obama refused more than once to speak to Netanyahu on the telephone and had U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry take the call instead. The paper cited a source it says is familiar with the issue.

According to the report, which was written by a reporter in Jerusalem, U.S. Jewish leaders are trying to get the White House to decrease the tension and snag Netanyahu an invitation to meet with Obama in Washington.

Meanwhile... France assured Israel it will stand firm on the Iran deal.

Fukushima Japan - "Major Global Catastrophe"

Satellite images show how the number of water storage tanks has increased in the past two years. The tanks store contaminated water that has been used to cool the reactors.

Water from the storage tanks has seeped into the groundwater and then into the sea. Efforts to use a chemical barrier to prevent sea contamination have not worked.

Mr. Mitsuhei Murata, former Japanese Ambassador to the US said: "The worsening radioactive contamination of the sea will soon awaken the whole world to the nuclear dangers that cannot be endured by human society."

Mr. Murata also wrote the following letter to President Obama.

Dear Mr. President,

Much reported contaminated water problem at Fukushima Daiichi is overshadowing the Unit 4 crisis which is the most pressing global security issue. A mega earthquake surpassing intensity 6plus will make collapse the already wrecked building and the cooling pool containing ten times more cesium 137 than Chernobyl. There are in total 15093 fuel rods assemblies at the site. Frequent earthquakes continue to rattle the building. If the worst happens, the total evacuation will be imposed and it will be, as top scientists of the world warn, the beginning of a major global catastrophe.

It is urgently needed to set up an international task force to assist Japan by deploying all possible means to reduce the risks of the imminent first unloading of spent fuel from the unit 4 under conditions of unprecedented complexity. This requires the establishment of a new system based on the full assumption of responsibilities by the Government of Japan. The enormous amount of funding needed must be totally supervised by the Government, not by TEPCO. This is the crisis of Japan as a nation, not the crisis of the management of TEPCO. One of the lessons of Fukushima should be the shift of the priority; from economy to life.

The task force to be created under the new system, consisting of best selected experts, American and others, would provide, based on neutral assessment, adequate strategies for the stabilization of the Fukushima Daiichi.

The world is pinning hopes on your historic role, symbolized by your vision "the world without nuclear weapons".

This is close to the average level of the ghost town of Pripyat of the no-go zone. Only one exception, the place where I'm at right , more than 10,000 people are currently leaving.
