James Franklin Veale, Sr., of Moline, Kansas, passed away on August 15, 2025 at the age of 67.  He was born on April 24, 1958 in Englewood, California to loving parents, Albert and Ernestine (Barrier) Veale.

James was a skilled entrepreneur who owned his own painting and cleaning business in California before relocating to Arizona and eventually settling in Moline Kansas to be closer to his beloved children.  In his lifetime, James was united in marriage to Tula Deeder in 1975, and they were blessed with three children, Venessa, James, Jr., and Veronica. Following their divorce, he later married Lilia Popoca with whom he had a son, Shawn.  Despite their parting, he remained dedicated to all of his children who were the apple of his eye.

A man of many talents, James had a knack for fixing things and was known for being able to repair anything that crossed his path.  His passion for fishing and camping brought him solace, but his most cherished hobby was operating CB radios.  As the Administrator for World Radio Club, he checked in every Sunday, connected with individuals worldwide, and even communicated with the Space Station at one point.

A devoted father and grandfather, James leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Hè will be missed by all who knew him.

James is survived by his children, Venessa (Michael) Hogan of Moline, Kansas, James, Jr. (Christy)O Veale of Burden, Kansas, Veronica Seimears of Pittsburg, Kansas, and Shawn Veale of Bullhead City, Arizona; eleven grandchildren, Haley, Ethan, Baylee, Alyssa, Makala, Hannah, Cody, Abby, Landon, Catalaya, and Arianna; and two great-grandchildren, Anisiea and Carter.  In addition, James is survived by his brothers, Conrad (Teresa) Veale of Eureka, Kansas and Don (Lucy) Veale of Boston, Massachusetts; and his sister, Denzel Veale of Fredonia, Kansas.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandpa Eugene; his grandson, Seth; and his great-granddaughter, Paisley.

A memorial service honoring James will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, Kansa.  Inurnment will follow in Ames Chapel Cemetery south of Moline, Kansas.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Mary's Altar Society and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.  Services have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington, Howard, Kansas 67349.
