Just picked this one up today...can't wait to take it to the next cowboy shoot!  It's an old Replica Arms import, supposedly hand engraved at Uberti.  I wonder if Uberti could letter it?  Note that the Replica Arms Remingtons did not use the cross pin frames and instead replicated the original style of cylinder pin release.  Anyone out there know much about Replica Arms?

Rapid Lee,......real nice lookin Remington!  Is it chambered in 45LC?  I looked around a bit, but couldn't find out anything on "Replica Arms". What are the markings on the gun, including any stamps or proof markings?  Sometimes you can find out more info through the stampings on the gun. Could you show us a close-up pic of the cyl.pin release?  Thanks for showing it to us!  ;D

Thanks, guys...I've been lovin on it all day ;D  It is chambered in 45LC.  The barrel address reads "Replica Arms Inc. Marietta - Ohio - Made in Italy".  The left side of the barrel reads "A. Uberti & C. Gardone VT. Italy".  I believe Replica Arms were in business during the sixties and maybe into the early seventies.  A pic of the cylinder pin release:

That cylinder pin release looks like the original type. You hit on a good one, there.

Rapid,....thanks for the nice close-up pic of the cyl. pin release.

All I could find on Replica Arms is reference to it here on this web-page ......

If there's a serial # on the bottom of metal grip frame,  perhaps Uberti could provide more info about it, ...like the year of manufacture.

Have fun shootin 'er! ;D

Howdy,

What a great find.  Regardless of the engraving, which is nice enough.. the correct release system is worth big bucks, at least to me.  As I ponder having a 'smith weld up the cross pin holes and putting some kind of spring clip on the cylinder pin, it's looking like an expensive procedure.

Thanks for sharing and please mention if you find more of these guns.
Adios,

by the way, how does it shoot? ;)

Thank you for being you.. Annie Lee!

That is one BEAUTIFUL revolver.....
GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!

Replica Arms Inc. was the first name Val Forgett imported under. Later You might get a Box with RA entwined letters on a Navy Arms purchase. Somewhere in the mid eighties Val and Navy Arms dropped the RA Replica Arms name.

Hi Pards,

Got to shoot the engraved 1875 today for the first time....it shot great!  I used it as one of my main match pistols (paired up with a NA nickel 1875) and I don't think it has any misses in it!  (Shot a clean match today ;D)  All I did to get it ready was swap out the main spring for one that I lightened previously and lubed it up.  Action is pretty smooth as is and the trigger is great!  I was also pleased to see the empties fall out on their own all day long - I was using 45 Schofield brass loaded with 3.9 grains of Trail Boss under a 200 gr lead RNFP.  I think I'll be shooting this one a lot more this summer!

That's the kind of report I like to hear, RL. Congrats. Now have fun with it.
