I believe I posted this before

Gregory Peck as Lincoln ...in the scene from The Blue & the Gray   1982
Stacy Keach and the late David Rounds as Christopher Spencer ( Mr. Rounds pasted a year after filming )

According to popular lore, President Lincoln personally fired the gun on the lawn of the White House....
intervened in the Union Army's weapons selection process in1863, ensuring that the repeating Spencer rifle be adopted and issued to Federal forces, thus changing the course of the war.
In fact, Spencers were in service before Lincoln laid eyes on one.   ( The Washington Times - Friday, September 29, 2006 )

The Spencer Keach holds is was my own, with a S&S upper breach block.

Sorry for the highjack ....just though it might be an interesting aside

when planets align...do the deal !
