Years ago here in Florida, environmentalist and ecologist got a ban but on Gator hunting.
They were declared an endangered species by these wildlife specialists.
The old Swampier/Gator hunters, tried telling them there was no shortage of gators.
"You simply can't count gator populations from the back of an air boat!"
Made no-never-mind to the Scientific Specialist. They new best, even though they didn't like getting bug eaten while counting and recording their findings.
A few years ago they took the ban off. Why? Because there were so many gators. Who would have ever thought???
This was no doubt because of earlier conservation effort, Right?

Today, you can apply for a Gator permit. Do you know how many gators you can take on one permit? 10! And there are no limits on how many time in a year you can renew that permit! No season!
Gator, BTW, is a very white meat. Much like chicken in texture, but, I have found it to be quite sweet by comparison to chicken.

God and the soldier we adore.
But in times of peace and all things right,
God is forgotten and the soldier slighted"
