Is this rifle available in .38/.357??

No.  The Uberti 30" 1873, like the 1860 Henry, is only available in 45 Colt or 44-40.

But as they say, if you have enough $$$...
...you could sleeve the barrel and change out the bolt and carrier.

Fortunately that was but a passing curiosity...I do like the .45 plenty. That 30" tube and a crooked stock will suit just fine.

Kicking an old thread... I love oddly-configured M1873's, thanks for sharing the evolution of your beautiful rifle. Curious if you had any chronograph data on your loads? Especially with the heavier projectile. I have two ironframes in original configuration, but looking to build a third "fantasy rifle" in 25-20 for varmints and general merriment at longer distances.
Responsive, timely, tactically accurate, and strategically precise fire.

Glad you got your handsome rifle dialed in. But I've got a 30 in '73 horror story for you. Many years ago when the NE Regional match was held at a lovely little range in PA whose name eludes me I went into a cabelas near there and found a pair of used 30 in uberti rifles, a musket and a sporting rifle. I bought the beautiful unfired looking sporting rifle. After a whole lot of shooting with a variety of bullets and loads I discovered why it looked so pristine, you couldn't hit doodly squat with it. I contacted Cimarron in Texas whose name was stamped ON the bbl and after some argument [they claimed that the rifle wasn't theirs?] I shipped them the gun. It lived in Fredericksburg for a whole year plus while they waited for a replacement bbl from Italy. Must have shipped by way of China. Finally got it back for a nominal fee and now it shoots just fine. I've used it in matches but have not fired it at any really long distance. Here I am in my RE outfit but now I've got a real 30 in Winchester musket and bayonet to use when in uniform. Haven't bought a Mk1or 2 .577-450 Martini-Henry but seriously doubt that it would be a very competitive cas rifle.

Question for Baltimore Ed: did you say that you saw a Uberti Winchester 1873 musket for sale?  I didn't know that Uberti made the 1873 in a musket configuration.  Or did I misunderstand your posting?

Abilene

gmkmd, Uberti did make some '66 and '73 muskets a number of years ago.  Don't see them often these days.

Baltimore Ed

Gmkmd, my Uberti 66 or Winchester 73 musket or Uberti 73 rifle are not for sale. Sorry. Enjoying shooting them too much.

Yes, that would have been my next question!
Would love to see some detailed pics of them, though.

That was most likely McKean County Rifle Club just south of Bradford PA.      I really liked how there targets were set on elevated stands. There was never a question of whether a target would have fallen over if it didn't slide into the dirt behind it.
