I have put off the urge for a long, long time.  I couldn't help myself.  I went and said yes to purchasing my first 1860 Henry in 44-40.   It is an older Cimarron imported Uberti with all the military markings but without the sling swivels.

I am getting my FFL to work out the details but hope to have it in my hands very soon.

Now the fun begins.

Congratulations and welcome to the group.

I like the way he said  "YES to purchasing my FIRST Henry...."

What gave me the final push I needed was I shot a match a couple weeks ago with a fellow cowboy shooter who was shooting a transitional Henry.  I was admiring it at the unloading table and he said he had TWO more just like it at home!

I called a buddy of mine who shoots an iron framed one and he asked what I was waiting for, talking or doing.....

Doing! Done!  ;D

I hope to start looking in earnest for my second one after Christmas.  I have a 44-40 color case frame model that I bought in the late '90s but now want a .45 brass frame with the 18" barrel.  Fer what they lack in speed, they more than make up for in class!  Enjoy.

Mine's a military version .44-40 from the early 80s.  I don't need another one.   Too many other guns I want.

Actually it is on my short list of three rifles, with six currently manufactured rifles being on my long list.

I finally got the Henry in my hot little hands today!  Wow, this waiting was worth it!  Its everything I thought it would be.

Now to become familiar with it.  I won't be able to sleep tonight....
