Picked up one that you won't see every day from a swap with my shootin' pard.

It is a Untied States Patent Fire Arms  -  .357 magnum, blue w/ cch, 4 3/4" barrel, beautiful walnut grips. Slight drag mark on the cylinder that was done before the Bob James action job.

Drag mark is usually the result of someone not operating the pistol correctly.  Specifically, lowering the hammer from half cock position will cause the bolt to rise, sometimes between bolt notches.

Thanks for the heads up, August. I'm very familiar with the cause of drag marks, as I have been doing action jobs on SAAs for almost 30 years. These actually show up more in the flash picture than in normal lighting.

Sweet lookin revolver, Mr. Rio.  The walnut grips have a nice grain.

I have newish USFA's and unfortunately they have a slight ring on the cylinders from letting other people handle them.  :'(  Im going to send the cylinders back to USFA to polish and reblue them.

Rawhide Rio,

Nice sixgun.  Grips look sweet!  I am a big fan of Color Cased Hammers.  Nice Shoot'n iron.

Thanks fellers!

On a added note, this is only the second Untied States Patent Fire Arms that I have ever seen. And the fact that it is in .357 Magnum, well, I just had to have it!
And it is definitely one that was made with Italian parts.
The box was a white box celebrating 140 years of the old Colt factory. I'm "kinda" proud of it!  ;)

Way to go, Rawhide!  That box sounds as interesting as the gun.  It's the first I have ever heard on an anniversary box.
