Does this look slick or what? What an improvement over the old barrels!

Problem is, now I want one! ($$)

I think the 5.5" stainless model is the best looking Vaquero.

Dirty Brass

That IS a pretty piece. I had an old model SS in 5 1/2" that I loved, but in a weak moment I gave it to one of my sons for his birthday. I've been looking at getting another ever since! It did, however, have the warning labels. At least I'll get to shoot it again this weekend - we're heading to the north woods for a few days to do some electrical work, and I told him to bring it along :)

Four-Eyed Buck

I acquired my second NRV in March, a 4 5/8ths in .45 to go with the 5 1/2 I've had since they came out. The warning is on the bottom of the barrel too. I believe this one was made sometime in 2007. My first one was one of the first 8 or 900 and the warning is in the old position. I do like it underneath...................Buck 8) ::) ;)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

FYI,

Don't be discouraged if you have the Safety "bible" on the side of a stainless  vaquero.  I have recently removed the bibles on two, soon to be, three barrels.  The stamping isn't as deep into the metal as one might think (more raised than deep).  Placing the barrel in a vise, I carefully filed over the lettering longways.  Then in diagonal strokes to even out the filing.  I followed up with progressive grits of emery and finished with green rouge on a buffing wheel of cotton.

While I did this so as to engrave scrolls on the barrels' sides, if I had left the barrels alone, no one could have known the difference.  I suspect one could do blued barrels the same way except it would require a trip to the bluer to look normal.
