Is the only difference between the Cowboy and the Premium Single Action the case hardened finish or is there internal differences?  I am trying to make my mind up if the difference is worth the extra money.

Thanks

Just cosmetics. The internals are exactly the same.

Agreed, but you will look a heck of a lot better shooting a Premium SAA!!!

I bought a USFA Cowboy about a month and a half ago now.  I am very impressed with the action and fit/finish.  The only thing I don't like about it is the trigger pull (a bit stiff).  However, the trigger can be correct but I am going to try to shoot it in first.  I bought the Cowboy over the Pre-war for 3 reasons.  #1 Price-about two hundred dollars cheaper for the same internal gun.  #2 I have an original Colt that someone long ago cold blued, and the Cowboy reminded me of that gun.  #3 I bought it to shoot and use in CAS shooting/target shooting/hunting and I don't want to have to worry about the finish on the gun.  I won't feel as bad about holster wear, etc. with the Cowboy.  Have I rambled on enough?

Heck no!  I like reading people's enthusiasms.  I won't own either for some time yet, but I formulate my plans in part by what you folks have to say.
