Both very nice.
You may get a kick out of this.  It was done in one take with a multi track recorder.  What all average Joe can't do these days.

I'm surprised that these kids even knew who Nina Simone was.  I think they did a good job with this and deserve some credit.

Here is one similar in thought to your serviceman one:

The original and writer was Tom Paxton:

John Denver did a very good cover, hard to tell which is the best:

They are both good.  That's one that always gets me in the gut.  This one does too.

Roo, that was great!!!  I had a daughter named Annabelle that didn't live very long and I designated that her song.  This version is beautiful.  You made my day by posting it.

Here's one.  Watch what Gene does with the sticks on the bass.  Aint fer everyone but I'm sure a few will enjoy.

I bet you are right about that Roo.  Since you mentioned that I can almost imagine a guitar in there.

I saw him twice with the Stray Cats at a small venue down the street from my house.  That was a whole different Brian.  The drummer played the whole show standing up with no stool in sight.  Next thing ya know Setzer is wearing a tux and conducting an orchestra.  Not saying it was a bad change but I missed the old stuff.
