OT, I guess I inherited some of my musical tastes from my Dad. He loved Hank Sr. and Bob Wills. We went to Amarilo in about 50 or 51 to see Hank Sr. I don't remember it. We watched Bob's TV show from Tulsa in the early 50s. My mother's side of the family(King) is from around Turkey, Texas where Bob was born. Bob played music at the Turkey Hotel as a young man. The annual celebration at Turkey always attracts a big crowd. The Moose taught school with one of Bob's daughters in Grand Prairie when she first started.

I know what ya mean, I can remember from the time I was just little, when the radio got turned on it was tuned to KVOO and that was where you heard Bob Wills on Tulsa Radio. he was just kinda always there. seems like I just knew the words to the songs forever.

OT, I don't remember the Radio shows, but I remember the TV ones. It came on Sunday afternoon. We got our first TV in 53, so it would have been after 53. I've seen that monument they built to him in Turkey, In fact I have actually spent the night in the Turkey Hotel. Some folks from Dallas bought it several years ago.

I certainly don't mind havin that one stuck in my head. He did another song with Willie (who I could care less about) and breaks inta that one at the end. It saved the whole album as far as I'm concerned.

I hope now that Waylon is gone he had a chance for Buddy ta tell him, "no problem Pard, I know it was just a joke". I think that plane crash bothered him fer the rest of his life.
