We seen this one at one of our favorite toy stores and knew it waa special but really didn't know anything about it. I went home and did some research. We went back the next day the shop was open and bought it before someone else got it. Then the big debate was over if we were going to shoot it or lock it away. I lost. It's in the safe.
But it did put is in the mood to add more Marlin 1894s in 44WCF.
I came across a pre-safey 1894 carbine in 44 Magnum. I got a 44WCF barrel of the same configuration from Numrich Arm. A local cowboy gunsmith swapped out the barrel. We put it together and it worked perfectly - even shot right on.
Then a Marlin 1894 Cowboy Limited in 44WCF came up for sale. Even better, it had been reworked for Cowboy Action Shooting by Widdermaker Hill. Mary glummed on to it and won't let go.
Then we each got a pair of Taylor's Smoke Wagons in 44WCF. Her's have 4-5/8" barrels, mine 5-1/2".
