« on: December 23, 2012, 09:03:50 PM »

Make em. Quicker and easier than goin somewhere and buyin em, or orderin em on line. Parafin and crisco 50/50 mix then put it in a pan with water and melt it take it off the stove let it cool (have about 3/8" layer on top of the water). Take yer cases and punch out a bullet with the top of the case. Prime the case. Ya got a loaded wax bullet. WM

I wonder if you can use a push through die for sizing/lubing such as Lee sells to size them to what you want. I've shot wax bullets but only in 45 Colts and at the moment have none to try or I would.

years ago I drilled out the primer pocket on .45 LC brass. and counter sunk the hole. so a 209 shotgun primer would fit and could be loaded in a Ruger single action .45.  I melted a pan of fairly soft wax and after it harded I pressed the cases into the wax to make a WC bullet. I loaded the cases and then put the pirmers in the cases. would you believe you can break a window at 25 yards with this??? it ain't no toy.  right after that my wife put a stop to those kind of things. like melding lead on the kitchen stove, those kind of things

I was just talking about wax bullets earlier today down at my local FFL. He was telling me about how goes to the local super market and heads to the deli section.

He explained how asks the deli for/to save him some of the wax, that many of the cheeses come encased in.  Now remember...I just heard this today and have never tried it but he said that the wax they use foe the cheese is perfect for making your own wax bullets. Has anyone else heard of or tried this?

Should I be headed over to my local GIANT grocery store tomorrow and ask them for all the "cheese wax" they have ...after all, its not thing edible... so they only throw it out anyway.

I recently moved and my local grocery store gave me free me egg boxes all the time for packing..so who knows. ???
