Need some info on selling guns in a state other than where I reside.

For now I am a Kentucky resident. I have been in Gettysburg, Pa. since March. After Labor Day I am going south into Maryland(about 35 miles). I'll be there until October and attending the Mason Dixon Stampede. Just wondering if I could go through a Maryland FFL holder and sell some .45 pistols?

check with Chuckeroo, But if your not shipping them and thay are your own personal why would you need a FFL? I don't get one here in Virginia when I buy off a private treaty.

Wes, since you are a Ky resident & only in Md as a visitor, to fully comply with BATF regs you must sell them through a licensee just as if you were shipping them. Legally, a private party transfer of handguns can only take place between residents of the same state. Not so with long guns unless either state prohibits it by law. I would imagine private party handgun transfers between non-residents take place all the time. But woe unto them what gets caught.

What the Colonel said. Its 10 years and a $250,000 fine to sell handguns to an out of state resident without going through a licensed dealer.

Thanks for the reply's. If I find a buyer in Maryland, could I sell them to him/her going through a Maryland FFL holder, or do I have to take them to Ky and have a FFL holder there ship them to a FFL dealer in Maryland? I want to be 100% legal!

Wes, I'd try calling Atlantic Guns at 301-585-4448. They are sponsors of both the Maryland State Match and Mason Dixon Stampede. Their shop is almost exclusively Cowboy firearms and they're great guys. They can give you the scoop on Maryland laws and probably act as an FFL for you in Maryland.
