I put 43.0 grains of IMR 3031 under a Hornady 350 grain jacketed flat nose and it shot very well.  I did not chronograph it tho.  Never got around to that.  It could be a good hunting load but I don't think I wold want to try it too often in an original barrel.

Here is the 1976 blog from SHOOTING WITH HOBIE. That load is listed.  Should be OK.  I use moderate loads of 4895 in my BLR SRC in .45-70 and they work well too.

I need to fix that table.  One of the loads listed for IMR 4198 is a gross under-performer in my rifle.

I take it this is the "Gould" bullet, the HP?
Sincerely,

Hobie
