Merwin Hulbert Pocket Army
« on: January 11, 2011, 06:58:07 PM »
I recenty got a Merwin Hulbert Pocket Army DA in 44-40.  It's in good shape, only issue is that it has a hard time staying in half-cock.  4 out of 5 times it will just fall forward.  Is this an easier fix or is some serious gunsmithing in order?  I have no experience with Merwin internals.

Get a copy of Dave Chicoine's 'Gunsmithing the Guns of the Old West'.

He goes into some detail  and it's easy to follow his instructions.

You should be able to find a copy at Barnes and Noble's.

Good Luck!

Congratulations!
