New NCOWS posse in Kentucky

The stage is being set for a new NCOWS posse in Kentucky. Right now there will be at least 3 NCOWS shoots at the Green River Gun Club, near Bowling Green, KY. This is where the SASS Green River Gunslingers shoot, they shoot the second Saturday of the month. The NCOWS shoots will be the fourth Saturday of May, fifth Saturday of Aug. and the fifth Saturday of Oct. The fourth Saturday of May will be the week end before we set up the range at West Side in Evansville, IN for the National. This club is far enough away from other NCOWS posses to not interfere with THEIR shoots.

We will try to get the paper work to become an NCOWS posse before the first of the year. Lot of thought has gone into our posse name. Since the NCOWS posse in KY nearest to us is the Johnson County Rangers. We thought rangers was a good ideal and Green River Rangers Company B would be good. Johnson County being the first ranger company in KY. sorta company A making us company B.

Again, thanks for the good comments. Rusty Spurless will be good to have you. We had our monthly SASS shoot at Green River Gunslingers, was a cold day. Only had about 12 shooters but we all had a good time and some hot chillie for lunch. I posted some posters around the grounds on the 09 National. We talked about the NCOWS shoot we would have next year and all were wanting to shoot. One cowboy was really fired up about the Pistoleer class. Here's hoping we will do well. TJ

Well cowboys and cowgirls, At last I got a copy of the Green River Gun Club's insurance policy and the application is mailed. We are a step closer to becoming an NCOWS posse. Three shoots are now set up for 09. The fourth Saturday in May. The fifth Saturday in August. The fifth Saturday in October. I also talked to Rowdy and we will try to have a cowboy days at Whittaker's Gun Shop in West Louisville, KY. More on this later. The fourth Saturday in May is the weekend before we set up the range at West Side in Evansville, IN for the 09 National. Be a good time to get some shooting in before that big event. Hope several NCOWS members can come and shoot with us and hope to have many new shooters join us and NCOWS. Consider this an invite to come and shoot with us Green River Rangers Company B.  TJ

Looks like a little change in our May shoot date. West Side is asking us to set up for the NCOWS National on the fourth Saturday in May. So we will have all our shoots in 09 on the fifth Saturday. Will keep you posted. TJ
