Great Basin vendor problems
« on: May 21, 2008, 02:27:08 PM »
I have ordered from Great Basin before and got my order fine.  However, this time they sent the wrong order with the right invoice in the box.  I called them and informed them of the mix up and they had me Fedex the box back on their dime which was also fine.  Now I have not received my correct order and cant seem to get anyone to return phone calls.  I even faxed them today.   Has anyone else been having recent problems with them OR is there some kind of big CAS event going on that they might be at?   They make a good product, but with recent service I am thinking of buying elsewhere.   I know....reload Don.

I just bookmarked them this week for future reference.  Hope everything works out.  Please keep us up to date.   Thanks.

Update:    No word from Great Basin on the status of my order.  I tried calling them, leaving messages, and even faxed a note asking them to call me or to simply cancel my order and credit my card.  NO reply.  Unfortunately,  I had to file a dispute claim with my card company.  I simply dont understand some businesses.   I am very surprised.  If anything changes I will let you know.  For now, I would be careful ordering from them.  Deadeye.

Followup and closing entry.       No word from Great Basin so my card company called his bank and got a credit on my card.  I am now done with the issue.   I still have no idea what the problem with them was.  I would suggest caution ordering from them.  Regards,  Deadeye.

That's too bad. I've ordered from them in the past with no problems, but that has been several months. I hope they get whatever the problem is resolved -- they make a nice product. I can certainly recommend Ten-X. I've bought a lot of their ammo, and I just sent 2600 brass to their reload service, which is a lot cheaper.

Edit - Here is what their web site shows. Apparently they've been buried. It doesn't excuse not answering emails or phone calls, but at least they posted a heads up on their site:

We're gonna be closed for a bit ... - June 11th, 2008

As we said in our last note, this is our ABSOLUTE BUSIEST time of year. We're kinda forced to go on a 4-6 week "hiatus" due to our hosting of the Utah Summer Games and then End Of Trail.

Well ... the Games are over, but we're working feverishly to replenish stock in order to take it to End Of Trail. We'll be leaving this Friday (the 13th of June) and we won't be back in the Shop until the 24th. If you're comin' to EOT, please stop by and say "howdy!"

Interesting, but that doesnt explain my difficulties with them.   Anyways,  I found another company that has good prices and sells in bulk.

I ordered 1000 rounds from Georgia Arms  and from the time of order to delivery it was right around  one week.  Plus they answer their phones!!   I have also had good customer service from TENX and will be using them again for my reloads.
