Forehand & Wadsworth & Merwin Hulbert
« on: February 16, 2008, 11:15:44 AM »
U. S. Firearms is going to make the Forehand & Wadsworth.  Cimarron is going to make the Merwin Hulbert.  The U. S. Firearms prototype, apparently, was at the Shot Show.  Anyone see it?  Anyone talk to Cimarron about the Merwin Hulbert?

I don't think this will see the light of day. Besides, it's an "abortion" that bears NO resemblance to an original.

Abilene, even with CNC machinery Uberti will really have their work cut out if they make a M&H. The frame has more machined planes than there are turns in a Hillary Clinton speech.  ;)  It will still require an amazing amount of hand fitting. They'd be far better off to tweak their S&W CAD program & make an 8" American in .44 Russian.  ;)

FCK, I hear ya about the tight tolerances, but they ARE working on it.

I know you want them to make an American, since they are already mostly tooled up for it.  I asked Mr. Harvey about it, and he agrees!  He owns Texas Jack Omohundro's American.  He would like for it to happen, so some day...  ;)

Abilene,

It sure is nice to have you here and participating in the forum.  There is nothing better than having an inside man giving us straight information.  By the way I got my longer ejector rod for my Transition model and installed it yesterday.  It took me 5 minutes without taking off the ejector housing.  Thanks for your help.  Regards.  Deadeye.
